GDAŃSK’S FOOTBALL FAN ZONE

The Fan Zone in Gdańsk will be functioning from June 7th to July 1st, 2012 with free entrance (except for ticket events) for fans and also those interested in non-sporting events. The Zone will be made available for fans at least 3 hours before the planned start of the first match (i.e., at approximately 3.00 p.m. during a group match) and will function till about midnight.

At the heart of the Gdansk Fan Zone will be the central square, located at Zebran Ludowych Square. Here a huge simulcast screen (100 m²) will be set-up which will broadcast all the matches of the Tournament and a stage on which world stars will perform on the non-match days as well as other cultural events. This place was selected because of its excellent communication network: only 600 m from the Railway Station, 500 m from the Bus Station - and 12 km from the Lech Walesa Airport.

The Gdańsk Fan Zone will be prepared to accept about 30 thousand people. The Zone will be protected by about 300 security employees. In addition, 30 volunteers at the Fan Zone will provide fans and guests necessary information quickly and professionally. Also located here will be 3 medical care points, including one Short-term Medical Care point.

The entire area of the Fan Zone, which will occupy 40.000 m², will be fenced and will have 4 entrances / exists. In order to provide maximum safety in the Fan Zone for participants of the events, there will be 2 additional emergency exits. There will be also 1 technical entrance.

Everyone entering the Fan Zone area will be subject to control in order to prevent hazardous items and alcohol from being brought in. The Fan Zone will be protected and monitored 24h and all the deliveries to the Fan Zone will be also inspected with reference to pyrotechnical safety. Additionally, the areas surrounding the Fan Zone will be constantly patrolled.

The following will be located in the Fan Zone:

Prestige zone – for those who want to celebrate and have fun in a specialty prepared ball-shaped area, with an excellent view of the main square and simulcast screen (paid zone, up to 170 places); reservation: jakub.lewandowski@mosir.gda.pl, tel. +48 791 163 999

Sport activity zone – for those who want to actively participate in the great world of football. Mini playing fields and numerous competitions will be prepared (football fields, beach volleyball field, video game consoles).
Food zone – will cover 41 sales outlets and here you can buy something to eat and drink.
Media Centre – specially prepared for journalists who want to feel the atmosphere of celebrating and to share it with their viewers, listeners or readers. 50 work stations will be prepared for them (including a few stations for the disabled) with electricity and Internet, leisure and regeneration zone and accreditation post. It all has an excellent view on the Fan Zone.

Cuisine and tourist regional attractions Zone, as UEFA EURO 2012™ in Gdansk is the celebration of the whole Pomerania region.
Sanitary facilities, composed of
- 200 toilets, located in places comfortable for fans,
- 20 restrooms.

The Fan Zone will be equipped with all facilities for the disabled: special platform for viewing the matches and concerts, easy access to each place in the Fan Zone: food, toilets and information points.

The Fan Zone in Gdańsk will also have a rich cultural programme. On non-match days in the Gdańsk Star Zone will be three large concerts of international stars. They will be paid, ticketed concerts which will start at 18:00:

On June 7, 2012, which will be inauguration of the Fan Zone, currently one of the most popular pop artists in the world - PITBULL - will perform. Ticket prices PLN 85 (on the Square), PLN 125 - (Golden Circle), PLN 165 - (Comfort), PLN 800 - (Prestige).
On June 20, we invite you to the concert of British rock star Noel Gallagher. Before Gallagher plays one of the most popular English indie rock bands - The Vaccines - will perform, as well as the Polish group - Ziemianie. Admission free.
On June 25, at Plac Zebrań Ludowych will perform the electronic music legend ATB - André Tanneberger - the German DJ, musician and music producer. During the same evening also performing will be: Josh Gallahan, the longtime co-producer of ATB repertoire as well as DJ Motiv8, co-founder and official DJ of the group the Black Eyed Peas. Ticket prices: PLN 65 (on the Square), PLN 140 (Comfort), PLN 800 (Prestige).

ATTENTION! To enter the concert of Noel Gallagher the free invitations will be needed. These invitations will be available in box offices at Gdańsk Fan Zone (Plac Zebrań Ludowych) and in office of Media Center, which is placed at the Coal Market (Targ Węglowy). Box offices will be opened from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm on June 20, 2012. The number of invitations is limited!
